Finnish Construction Support Oy has been selected as a supplier for the stormwater monitoring pilot project of the international Baltfloods project.

FCS will provide the Baltfloods project with a continuous sensor and analysis solution for stormwater monitoring. The project will measure the turbidity, electrical conductivity, and temperature of stormwater, as well as the water level in the wells.

As part of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region-funded Baltfloods project, the City of Lappeenranta’s Streets and Environment Department is monitoring the quality and volume of stormwater in the city’s stormwater system. The monitoring is carried out using solutions that continuously provide real-time data.

Finnish Construction Support Oy’s solution uses highly cost-effective sensor devices that provide real-time data from measurement sites for several years. All measurement data is transferred to FCS’s StreetAI smart city system and analyzed into easily accessible information.

Through StreetAI, stormwater data is readily available to city staff and, if desired, can also be shared with other information systems or made available to residents. In addition to stormwater, StreetAI consolidates data on traffic volumes, traffic speeds, weather, road conditions, air quality, parking spaces, and the condition of roads, among other things, into a single view.
